Col

I would like to invite all people to join us in making some noise in solidarity with the national strike that Colombians have held in their country for the last 3 days. To make noise we only need three things: a pot, a utensil and energy to bang them together.
We will meet at the Walterdale bridge on the south end. We will start walking on the pedestrian lane at 7:20 p.m from the south end to the north and back.

If you cannot join us on the streets, we invite you to make noise from home, as it is the sentiment of ‘el cacerolazo’, that is, to protest from home during marshal law.

November 12th 2019 – 5:30 – 6:15 pm

On November 12th, 2019 workers in Chile will be holding a national general strike to demand concrete answers to their fight for justice and equality. This General Strike follows weeks of oppression and violence by Pinera’s military forces.

The Chilean repressive forces have been responsible for deaths, injuries, rapes, and unlawful arrest of people including minors. Many protesters have disappeared and their whereabouts unaccounted for.

In Chile the use of rubber bullets directed at the eyes of protesters, a trade mark of brutal government all over the world, has resulted in hundreds of people having had their eyesight compromised and many more simply permanently blinded.

We are asking all Chileans and allies to participate in an action to show support and solidarity for Chileans. We will be peacefully gathering along the public sidewalk to bring attention to what is happening in our country.

What to bring :

Pots, a sign of support and a bandage to cover your eye.

What we are asking:

We are asking the Alberta Government and the Canadian government to denounce the human right violations currently taking place in Chile.Ojo
